“NOT A SINGLE SOUL” – TUĞBA YÜKSEL PHOTOGRAPH EXHIBITION

Sainte Pulchérie French High-School will be hosting the opening of the photograph exhibition “Not a Single Soul” of artist Tuğba Yüksel from 12th November to 19th December 2015. A compilation of photographs shot by the artist during the summer of 2015 in Paris will be presented in this exhibition.

Photography artist Tuğba Yüksel had won the art contest organized with the collaboration of the Art Gallery of Sainte Pulchérie French High-school “Od’A-Ouvroir d’art”, French Cultural Center and historical Maçka Art Gallery. As the winner of the contest, she was awarded artist residency in Paris.

Following the contest Tuğba Yüksel participated in an artist residency held at La Cité International des Arts Paris for a period of two months. During this time, she strolled through the historical streets of Paris in order to discover the city and she photographed the famous city with a melancholic perspective.

Apart from tourist symbols and popularity of Paris, the River Seine accumulates the stories worth to be told about this city, such as the sad history of the city, somber stories and their heroes, along with the river that carries their melancholy… Tuğba Yüksel photographed Paris over the River Seine.

About Od'A-Ouvroir d'Art Art Gallery

Od'A-Ouvroir d'Art Art Gallery was established in year 2009 within the Sainte Pulchérie French High-School complex. The ODA spreads over 280 square meters and hosts modern art exhibitions while emphasizing artistic elements of the Turkish and French culture. Works of pioneering artists such as Bedri Baykam Bubi, Charles Vess, Dany, Devabil Kara, Devrim Erbil, Diana Page have been exhibited at Od’A-Ouvroir d’Art. ODA is both an exhibition hall and an studio where artistic workshops, meetings and conferences take place.
